Highlights of our approach

We have embraced the EYFS main guiding principles that should shape practice in early years settings:

  • every child is a unique child, who is constantly learning and can be resilient, capable, confident and self-assured. Children have a natural need for self-development. They are guided by their own likes and dislikes, and learn to make their own choices. For all activities, the process is more important than the result. It is important that children learn, experience, and discover for themselves, under careful supervision but with minimal interference.
  • children learn to be strong and independent through positive relationships. Children are encouraged to be themselves, and their individual experiences and feelings are taken seriously. We teach children to look out for each other and to take responsibility.
  • children learn and develop well in enabling environments,in which their experiences respond to their individual needs and there is a strong partnership between practitioners and parents and/or carers;and
  • children develop and learn in different ways and at different rates. The framework covers the education and care of all children in early years provision, including children with special educational needs and disabilities.

  • How we put our policies into practice

    Here are some examples:

    • Conducive and stimulating atmosphere to create exitement to play and develop confidence
    • Fixed daily routine so that your child knows what to expect
    • Permanent staff members in the group, so that your child does not have to get used to more new faces than necessary
    • Toys at stored within eye level, and reachable heights. We help children to "do it themselves" and choose
    • Out door play area which contributes to learning to care for the world around you
    • Balanced meals for developing healthy eating habits
    • Variety of activities to help your child explore and learn effectively
